Skull
Tattoos
Skull tattoos are generally chosen by a particular type of
person. Having traditionally been associated with prisoners and
gang members, they are ideally suited to macho men with a
bad-boy image. They are closely associated with death and a
certain sub-culture, so they are not really the kind of tattoo
design that the ordinary person would choose to have done.
The skull image is not generally
that pleasant to look at, and is certainly not chosen for it's
beauty. Skull tattoo designs are nearly always chosen for the
dark, almost demonic symbolism that they represent.
Of course there are ways in which
you can be a little creative and dress up skull tattoo designs
to make them look quite funny, but however much you dress them
up you cannot get away from the fact that a skull will always
represent death.
It takes a certain kind of person
to get a skull tattoo done, but if you do choose to have one
done, then there are certain skull tattoo designs that can look
very striking. I'm not a big fan of them myself, but they are
nevertheless quite popular with a lot of people.
Overall although skull tattoos
are predominantly associated with the darker side of society,
you shouldn't necessarily be put off by this. Some people use a
skull tattoo to convey a more positive message. For example,
the more adventurous types often get a skull tattoo done to
convey the message that they enjoy living life on the edge and
taking risks, and are not afraid of death.
If you are thinking about getting
a skull tattoo done, I can highly recommend the two biggest
online tattoo galleries, Chopper
Tattoo and Tattoo Me Now. Both
of these sites have many excellent skull tattoo designs to
choose from, all of which are considerably better than a lot of
the free designs you will find on the internet.
